Construction Practices

This course focuses on the relationship between architectural concepts and building construction, focusing on building enclosure and envelope systems. Understanding the basic principles of building thermal, air, water, vapor, fire protection and control joints. I had to analyze performance of thermal and vapor movement through exterior assemblies, use construction detailing drawing to investigate various exterior cladding systems, develop an understanding of the relationship between 2-dimensional drawings and field application through experiential labs, understand the basic concepts for steep roofs and low-slope roofs, and calculate and draw code compliant architectural elements for construction drawings.
